DID YOU REMEMBER YOUR GOLD COIN?

If you have any thoughts regarding our stewardship activity with the gold coin or if you have any other ideas, we would be more than happy to receive any feedback from you.

The newest member of our family of faith is Ryleigh Conjecta Sox, daughter of Sarah Kathryn Sox. Please congratulate the family when you see them and offer them your support and prayers.

Beginning next week we will start putting out the envelopes for next year.

Thoughts on Stewardship as a Way of Life

It is like a man traveling abroad. He leaves home and places his servants in charge, each with his own work, and orders the gatekeeper to be on watch.” - Mark 13:34
God has left us as His servants in charge here on earth. Each of us has our own special work that we can do for God. If we do not do it, who will?

Like the servants in today’s Gospel, we have been left alone by the Master to care for all creation. As Christian stewards, we give thanks for the work God has entrusted to us.

Mk 13: 33-37

Today’s gospel warns about routines and specifically mentions eating and drinking, raising a family, working and preparing meals. STAY AWAKE because routines can numb you to God breaking into your daily life, calling you to higher ground, “when you least expect.”

The next Concert of Prayer will be held on Wednesday, December 3rd at Covenant United Methodist Church at 7:00 PM.

Liturgical Reflection…

The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops has written a document this year entitled Sing to the Lord, Music in Divine Worship. The bishops of our country say “it is our duty and our joy as shepherds of the Church to guide and oversee liturgical song in each particular Church.” Liturgy is the source of the Church’s prayer and action, and the summit by which our lives and all our ministries ascend to the Father. The purpose of this document is to draw all who worship the Lord into the fullness of liturgical, musical prayer.

The Altar and Rosary Society’s Christmas Dinner will be held on Tuesday, December 9th at Fox’s Restaurant at 6:00 PM. This is for members and guests. Order off the menu. Please respond by Friday, December 5th to Rosellen Passell at 660-2352 or Helma Kruk at 748-8859.

The Catholic Daughters of America #399 will have their next meeting and Christmas Party on December 2nd at 6PM in the Parish Center. Please bring a covered dish, and we will take a donation for Emmaus in lieu of a gift exchange.

LET SOMEONE ELSE DO THE BAKING FOR YOU The Altar Rosary Society will be having a cookie, bread and candy sale on December 6th at the Parish Center from 9 to ?? Buy your cookies now and freeze them and be all ready for the Holiday Season. If you would like to give a monetary donation, please put it in an envelope and mark on it Altar Rosary Cookie Sale. Thank you.

Christmas Flower Envelopes - If you would like to contribute to the Christmas flowers in memory of your loved one or in honor of someone special, please find an envelope in your packet, fill it out CLEARLY (please print) and turn in by December 7th so that names can be placed on the Christmas Flower Chart for the Holidays. Extra envelopes are on the music book stands. The money that is collected for this will be spent on decorations for the Holidays.

There will be someone available on Tuesday and Thursday mornings and Saturday and Sunday after masses to sell Ravioli and Apple Dumplings in the Parish Center. Don’t miss out on these delicious foods our wonderful cooks make.
