Bulletin: 20TH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

Jn 6: 51-58

Jesus reminds us today: Life comes from flesh and blood. Parents often feel ‘drained’ because their children’s needs continually demand personal sacrifice. This is the vocation of parenting: to give our flesh and blood so our children may live.

Stewardship as a Way of Life

Watch carefully then how you live, not as foolish persons but as wise…” - Ephesians 5:15
A wise person recognizes that all we have comes from God. A wise person thanks God every day for all His many blessings. A wise person realizes that God has blessed us for a reason and He wants us to be partners with Him in His work here on earth.

Christian Stewards recognize that their “possessions” are only on loan from God. They recognize these gifts, cherish them, cultivate them, and share them with others while “giving thanks always and for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Eph 5:20)

Liturgical Reflections…

Men and women are created in the image and likeness of God. Of all the sounds of which human beings are capable, voice is the most privileged and fundamental. Musical instruments in the Liturgy are best understood as an extension of and support for the primary liturgical instrument, which is the human voice. Music in divine worship highlights and emphasizes the full, active, conscious participation of the assembly. When the baptized raise their voices in song, God is given proper praise and thanks.
