FROM FR. JOZEF

WELL DONE!

Thank goodness that the busiest week for our parish is over. First, we need to thank the Lord for graciously blessing us with beautiful weather and the energy to organize this event for our community. Although, occasionally there may have been some disagreement on how to run certain things, over all, the whole event showed that we can work together well. We need to work on always showing Christ-like attitude to our fellow parishioners, volunteers and guests. This event should bring us closer to each other and not draw us apart or create bad feelings among us.

Our 35th Saint Agnes Fair was a successful one because you were willing to offer your time and energy. It was great to see some new faces getting involved and helping. A complete financial report on the fair will be given when all the bills are paid.

In conclusion, I would like to thank in a special way Steve Bianchi, the chairperson of the fair for all his hard work. Once again he did an exceptional job. Thank you all who came and enjoyed themselves and the atmosphere of the fair, but most importantly I want to express my deepest appreciation and gratitude to those who helped to set up and clean-up the grounds, the inmates from the Clinton County Jail, our young people, all who worked in the parish center many hours before and during the fair, our sponsors, all who worked various food and game booths, and all the volunteers who offered their help wherever it was needed. Let’s do it again next year!

Jn 6: 41-51

Jesus tells us in today’s gospel to “stop complaining among yourselves.” Family conflict is inevitable but constant whining destroys relationships. We may feel better, but others feel bitter. Address differences honestly and respectfully. Don’t make them personal attacks.

Stewardship as a Way of Life

Get up and eat, else the journey will be too long for you!” -

1 Kings 19:7
Jesus knew that the stewardship journey would be difficult, so He gave us the nourishment of the Eucharist. When we take time to join our sacrifices with the sacrifice of the Mass, we find the strength to give and joy in our giving.

Saturday, October 3rd, 2009 has been selected as the date of our next Diocesan Pilgrimage to the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, DC. Since this will be Bishop Joseph’s final pilgrimage as head of our Diocesan Church, it would be a great tribute to him and to his dedication to Mary, our Mother, if we could fill the Basilica to overflowing. If interested please call the Rectory for more information.
